About a year back, in June 2012, we launched a revolutionary new trip planning product for the Indian market. Our team of designers and engineers built it from scratch with love and passion and we called it the “ixigo trip planner”. At launch we focused on solving the age-old problem of getting people from one place to another irrespective of what the mode of transportation would be. And more so, one could type queries like “fastest way to go from pune to guwahati” or “cheapest way to reach mumbai from patna” and compare trains, flights, buses, cars and their combinations as possible modes to go from A to B.
About 2 weeks back (19th July) we sent out our fresh newsletter (after several busy months), and after much debate in the marketing team, we christened it “waytogo” since it rhymes so well with ixigo!
Today, we noticed a sweet coincidence.
